Correcting a Terminated F-1 Record

If you wish to return to Penn State for in-person studies after a withdrawal, military service, suspension, or leave of absence you must apply for a new F-1 record to resume your studies in the U.S. Please follow these steps to apply for a new I-20:

Complete the re-enrollment process with the Registrar’s Office (undergraduates) or through the Fox Graduate School (graduate students).

About 3 months before the date of your approved return to the University, request a new I-20 via the Returning Students form in iStart(iStart > I-20 or DS-2019 Requests > Returning Students).
