Students explore language and culture during trip to Spain and Italy
A group of Penn State students explored the connections between language, culture and identity during a two-week embedded program in Spain and Italy. Through hands-on experiences, cultural immersion, and faculty-led learning, students gained a deeper understanding of global communication — and of themselves.

Mechanical engineering grad student selected as Fulbright scholar for Chile
Sarah Chekan, a master’s student in mechanical engineering in the Penn State College of Engineering, was selected for the 2025-26 U.S. Fulbright Student Research/Study Program. She will conduct research within the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering on integrating renewable energy into existing power grids in Chile.
