For Your Consideration

As you contemplate studying abroad again, we recommend you keep in mind the following things.

Post-Graduate Opportunities

Your international experience doesn’t need to stop after you study abroad through Penn State. There are limitless opportunities to further your role as a global citizen beyond graduation and explore what the world has to offer. The world is waiting for you!

  • Visit our Career Development page to begin brainstorming how you can apply skills learned abroad to your career path or how to internationalize your field of study or career.
  • Study abroad as a graduate student. Take on an international internship or research assistantship.
  • Apply for a Fulbright Grant to teach or perform research abroad.
  • Attend graduate school in a different country.
  • Volunteer abroad with an NGO or international organization. U.S. citizens might consider Peace Corps and volunteer abroad for a longer experience in their host community. (Did you know Penn State has a Peace Corps Prep Program?)
  • Teach English abroad.
